Reading Schemes

At St. Mildred’s we teach children to read during Daily Guided Reading Sessions.

We encourage children to apply their reading skills to a variety of different genres.

Books are organised into the phonic phases of Little Wandle Letters and Sounds revised so that children are reading books matched to their phonic level.

The children take home books in their ‘book bags’ to read with their grown-ups.
